The nursery founded in 2001 by Chris Smith & Mike Milligan within the protected environs of a Victorian walled garden. Initially producing ornamental grasses a wide range of hardy exotica is now grown including over 100 varieties of Agapanthus, Nerines, Eucomis, Gladiolus species, Irises and a selection of unusual shrubs, most from the southern hemisphere.
An increasing range of Heritage Vegetable Seeds is offered and a new vegetable garden established within the nursery grows these varieties.
Our plants can be purchased at many shows and plant fairs or by mail order.
Courses are run at the nursery in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society on such subjects as vegetable growing, grasses for autumn and Christmas wreaths.
Chris Smith also lectures to many horticultural groups throughout the country and welcomes groups to the nursery although access for those less mobile can be difficult.
Visits are best in May (Irises), July (Agapanthus), September (Grasses and Nerines).
